Two-guard front. 1 attacks the gap between the top two defenders.
Phase by phase
When to run it
- The other team plays a 2-3 zone and sits back at the top.
- You have a guard who attacks gaps without losing the ball.
- You want a quick shot or a high-low look.
Coaching points
- Attack the gap, not a defender. Two defenders must step to stop one dribble.
- The kick goes to the player the stepping defender left.
- The baseline dump is a quick pass. Do not hold it.
Counters
- Defense: Both top defenders collapse early
- Answer: Pass to the high post instead of dribbling.
- Defense: Bottom defender stays home
- Answer: Pull up for the shot.
