When to run it
- You have a shooter who is dangerous in the corner.
- The zone's wings extend high to the ball.
- You want a three against a zone without a long swing.
Coaching points
- The shooter starts moving as the ball swings, not after it arrives.
- The screener walls off the bottom defender so the corner is open for one second.
- A closeout to the corner opens the middle.
Counters
- Defense: Bottom defender fights through
- Answer: The screener slips to the rim.
- Defense: Zone shifts to the corner
- Answer: Swing the ball and shoot from the other side.
