When to run it
- A ball-screen defender is good at showing and recovering.
- You want your five to roll without his man chasing him.
- The defense helps hard from the weak side.
Coaching points
- The ram screen happens first, before the ball handler starts to move.
- The ball screener gets to his spot in two steps. No wandering.
- Hit the roll before the low man tags.
Counters
- Defense: Tag from the weak-side corner
- Answer: Kick to the corner player.
- Defense: Switch the ram screen
- Answer: Screen again with the other player.
